At busy times, this place can really grind to into slow gear to turn out your order. Ordering process is very cumbersome and the orders stack up prior to even getting to the under manned grill/kitchen to begin making your food. Will comment on food later....much later.

I can't believe it's been this long before we went back to Parkway Grille again for breakfast. We were there this past weekend and again, enjoyed our breakfast. I ordered their breakfast sandwich bagel with bacon, eggs, and cheese. I asked if I could add a piece of French toast without ordering a whole platter. The nice lady said, "no problem" and added it as a side. My husband and my sister both got their breakfast plate. He chose a pancake as side and she got the grits. My brother in law got the biscuit breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious. My everything bagel sandwich was very good and a I could only finish half of it because I also got a side of French toast. Ok, it's nothing fancy. The French toast has a light coating of powder sugar, but that was exactly what I was looking for. My husband's side of pancake was very nice and fluffy. I am not a grits person, but tried my sister's grits. She has asked for butter in her grits and it was very nice. Again, this is a no fluff, down to earth, little local establishment. But it was sincere and you can't beat the price and the value. I am a definite fan and will return again to enjoy the food and hospitality.

Great place to go for a quick breakfast or lunch. There's a large variety of sandwich and grill items that are all reasonably priced. The staff goes out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. Overall, a great experience.

Long overdue review for this magnificent establishment. We arrived early for breakfast, ordered the pancakes, pecan waffles, french toast, the eggs with canadian bacon and shredded potatoes well done. We order and found our seats right away and we waited about 10 mins. Food came out right away with a friendly smile. Parking maybe difficult to get at lunch but otherwise this place is solid. The french toast were thin, had a bit of cinnamon on top and they were stacked nicely. The stack of fluffy pancakes was very healthy and with the sausage it was delicious. The pancake itself had a nice taste and it was pipping hot. The pecan waffle look niced but it could havr been a bit more crispy, the canadian bacon was lean and delicious. Unlimited coffee once you buy your cup, while you have to go get your own coffee refills, i dig this joint consistent delicious food. Great job to the owners for making sure their food is always consistent.

We have been a regular of parkway since we moved to the Island. The breakfast is good. The sandwiches are good. The place is laid back and casual. You get your own drinks. If you are looking for some good food with no fuss this is your place.

Talk about a great breakfast...it was huge and tasty. Staff couldn't be friendlier. We'll be back!

I'd give a half star if I could! Horrible experience. Food was mediocre at best. Very disappointed after having to wait 45 mins for a frozen piece of chicken. BTW there is a difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip! Don't waste you time

First time on island, saw it and stopped. Just looking for a burger and fries and this place was perfect. I don't about anything else on menu but this was a great burger. Order at window and lady brings it to your table.

Yum yum yum!!! Getting lunch here on the weekends is always such a treat! Bursting flavor and you definitely get your fill of food for a sandwich type of lunch. Reasonably priced. Fresh produce, meats and cheeses layered on tasty breads. Quick workers considering how busy they are when I walk in the door. Counter sandwich shop restaurant with indoor seating. Perfect for a sandwich lunch. I have not ordered anything other than a sandwich so I don't know how breakfast or other items are.

A favorite -- every time I am on the island, I make sure to stop by. The atmosphere is very casual: a family-owned restaurant serving reasonably priced and well made food. Breakfast is hearty (hash browns are especially good), but go for the lunch sandwiches. All food is freshly made to order and served quickly in spite of the lunch crowds. If you're looking for fast, casual, and simple food on Amelia Island, look no further.

Food was awesome and everybody was extremely nice. My car over heated in the parking lot when we got there and a lady helped me open my hood. When we were leaving we got so much help. Refilled my water and told me what was wrong with my car. Sooooo thankful.

Food was decent, but it took us 1hr 15mins to get our sandwiches. Nice and apologetic about it but it sucks when you go somewhere for lunch and don't have time to even eat what you ordered. We won't be back.

Took almost an hour to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese and an egg and cheese sandwich on white toast!!! And it wasn't that busy!!! The time wasted there has annoyed me first thing this morning! Food was fine - but hard to screw up what we ordered. No waitstaff, you order at the counter and they bring it out ... Painstakingly one item at a time. Won't stop here again.

I was expecting a typical diner experience when I walked in, I ordered a single pancake and home fries then was handed an empty coffee cup. I thought for an almost $8.00 tiny meal there would be normal service. Shortly after the smallest portion of home fries I have ever received and a burnt pancake land on my table. Oddly enough the burnt pancake was a bit undercooked on the inside and gad an awful bitterness that no amount of syrup could hide. The only thing good I can say is the home fries tasted great. I have since read other reviews on this place and see a lot of excuses commented back but in my experience still not a place I would recommend.

Exactly what you would expect from a local diner. Good food at reasonable prices. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. I had the Reuben and it was grilled, large, and very tasty! Atmosphere was small town diner. Going back in a few days to try the cheesesteak. Not 5 stars because the desserts are not homemade.

We went here with my in laws for lunch while on a quick weekend trip. I ordered the Ham and Turkey Club. Everything was fresh and tasted great! The atmosphere was very casual and homey. I would visit this place again for lunch and would be interested to try the breakfast here as well.

My wife and I finished our walk on the beach and wanted a quick bite to eat. We passed this place often and it looked like an old type of diners we have liked in the past. The coffee was good, but no preparation area for you to place your cup for cream and sweetener. My wife was served over cooked eggs and greasy overcooked hash browns. I had biscuits and gravy where the gravy was tasteless paste served in a cup with a store bought biscuit. All for the price of $15. we were not happy and will not return.

this was our staple for breakfast/lunch while recently staying in Amelia. The food is very good, reasonably priced, and delivered quickly. My favorite were the daily soups and the cuban sandwich. It's not at all fancy, but for a good, cheap meal I highly recommend it.

First of all, if you go to a diner, sit down type of restaurant, you expect to go in, sit down and be served a drink while you're looking at the menu. This is a "walk in and order at the front and then go find a table" type of place. There is no silverware on your table. You have to go up front and ask or figure out there's a "station" for that . You get your own coffee and then have to hunt for the sugar/cream station. As for the food, well they were out of sausage. When it arrived, every single order was wrong on so many different levels. 2 eggs over medium (for 3 different people) came cooked all different ways. My daughter actually had 1 egg cooked hard and 1 that looked like it had been cracked on the plate. My eggs "over hard" were scrambled. The grits were cold and flavorless. The potatoes were over seasoned and gross. Someone came over to ask us how our food was and if we needed anything. We told her what we wanted and when she never came back, I went to the counter and was told, nothing goes to your table without a paid ticket . Needless to say, no tip was left because frankly, we served ourselves. I'm surprised they didn't ask us to cook our own food. Could have gotten better service and food from McDonald's.

My husband and I went here for a late breakfast on a Monday; call it more like a brunch. It has been many years since we had been here, and we recalled it as a nice breakfast diner. We were disappointed today. You order at the cash register, go fetch your coffee, silver ware, napkins, etc., sit down and wait for your food. The food arrived hot and it was a basic breakfast. The grits were clumpy and without salt or flavor. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and without flavor. The 2 pieces of toast were good but cool. The coffee machine was out of coffee; the cream was out. I had to get someone to look at both. We were also struck by how dirty it seems to be. The floor was sticky as was the table. The whole place just seemed dreary, old and in need of a redo. Now I like funky but this just wasn't up to funky. If you are looking for a GOOD breakfast, go to Ms. Carolyn's. It is everything this place is not.

This was my first visit after passing this restaurant on many trips to Fernandina Beach. My husband and i decided to stop for breakfast. You go up to a counter and place your order, then sit down with a number. We waited 45 minutes for our food. I noticed a table of four next to us, decided not to wait any longer and left. We were not in a hurry. The food was good. Overall, be prepared to wait a long time, but they do offer Fox News on the television as you wait!

Greasy omelet with hash browns. Had to dab grease off each bite. Which is a shame because the veggies looked fresh but just layered in oil. Husband found a hair on his plate. It happens but just added to this sketchy place. Won't b back and I live here.
